Dress up this town – Twig + Tale

Today I’ll show you my latest make from Twig + Tale Driftwood pattern (link!*)
It is a perfect summery dressing up dress made out of lightweight cotton blend. I don’t know the exact fiber content as it was given to me from my granny. My granny used to work in clothing industry and she still goes to visit her ex coworkers and they now send me some fabric scraps they have 🙂 So because of the nature of the pieces I had I made some modifications. When the skirt portion is originally double the width of bodice I had enough to only make it around 1.5 width of bodice.
I decided to change the sleeves and shortened them to use without cuff and took some of the wideness off. It resulted in this beautiful dress I am loving in bits and pieces.
I am sorry that these photos don’t do justice as it is just so cold and windy outside!

The most important part about this dress is that DD loves it and I love it too!

This post is part of the Dress Up This Town series hosted by lovely Sewing by Ti (link!)

Show your Stoff – Girls edition

My plan for DD was leggings + batwing top combo. It is comfy, you can use both items with everything and it kinda works with my outfit too. So without further ado I’ll show you the Wiebke leggings (Aff link) and Kitty Batwing top(Aff link). Comfy option for home and around. Kitty batwing top is made with the same Viscose jersey I used for my Juliene and her leggings are basic CoEl. With Kitty I recommend you to choose a one size smaller than usual. This is 92, DD usually wears 92 and this is pretty big on her. I am still happy though, because it will get more use and now it just has rolled up cuffs.

With the photoshoot I decided to go with playing kiddo photos, just because this is what this outfit is made for, playing and lounging. Lounging isn’t something 2yo do often so lets just say playing 🙂

Janie dress by Mouse House Creations

I am in love with Scandinavian design – Clean lines and patterns, optimal for cold weather. And when I saw the testing call from Mouse House Creations I immediately thought that this dress will be perfect for my Scandi-inspired dress. (And when we talk about Scandi-inspired, I made a FB group for Svandinavia inspired sews for kids)I am talking about Janie Dress and Peplum, I chose to make a regular circle skirt, long sleeves and scoop back out of the fabric I bought from local kids clothing company. Please note that this is one of the previous versions so it is made even better by lovely Hayley.
I do think I’ll write longer about that dress later, when I have made the final version (I am planning, but time isn’t my friend now and I am looking for a perfect Christmas knit so, hopefully 🙂

Now onto showing you some photos, made outside in the snow! This little trooper didn’t have any complaints! What a model I have at home 🙂
